1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS
Added: 1-02-2004 Location: Alabama, United States
- Engine: 454 ci. overbored to 462 ci.
- Trans.: Turbo 400 w/ B&M Holeshot torque converter.
- Rear: Narrowed 9" Ford w/ 3.90 Richmond Street gear, Auburn Pro Series differential.
- Tires: 33"x19.50" Mickey Thompson tires.
- Interior: Restored to original condition. Custom rear seat installed between wheel tubs. Wheel tubs blend in with custom rear seat for a clean look. Six point roll cage constructed with the main hoop hidden by the rear quarter window weather-stripping. The side bars are constructed in a manner that allows the interior arm rests on the doors to remain in place. Original center console sports an aftermarket Hurst Quarter Stick shifter installed with an owner fabricated bracket to position shifter in stock location. Most people that see this think the shifter is original until I tell them otherwise! The dash is complete, not cut out or hacked up in any manner.
- Body: Painted in PPG Crimson Pearl w/ Red Pearl "Ghost Flames". The flames w/ Purple Pearl tips are located on the hood, front fenders and doors. (See if you can find them!) Rear quarter panels "stretched" to achieve the Pro Street stance of the vehicle. All major body panels except the roof and rocker panels were replaced. Rocker panel moldings and the rear wheel opening moldings were extensively reworked to fit on the altered rear quarter panels to achieve the complete exterior molding package found on the 1969 Camaro SS. Rear quarter panels incorporate the factory inner lip which is commonly cut out on lesser detailed cars.
